Meet our Acupuncturists

There are now THREE Licensed Acupuncturists at Allen Acupuncture!

Meet Sara Allen

My name is Sara Allen, owner and acupuncturist of Allen Acupuncture & Wellness, LLC. I am Double-Board certified: NCCAOM national board-certified in Oriental Medicine, and Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (FABORM). As a licensed acupuncturist in South Florida, I have a passion for helping people find natural ways to solve real health problems like infertility, pain, and allergies.

After a career as a teacher, I graduated from Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine with a Master’s in Oriental Medicine and a second Bachelor’s in Health Science. I am also a Doctoral candidate, and I now teach at the acupuncture school to help train tomorrow’s amazing practitioners.

Why did I become interested in acupuncture and Oriental Medicine? It’s a long story, but I was always interested in medicine! As a small child, I would pour through my mom’s nursing books, reading up on anatomy & physiology, diseases and treatments. After a mission trip to Ecuador, I decided to become a doctor, and studied pre-med and chemistry in college.

My mother, a nurse, was suffering with 30+ food allergies. Going places and eating out were scary challenges. I was determined to find a cure for her. Then, her doctor recommended that she try an allergy elimination therapy with an acupuncturist. She had her doubts about it, but after many treatments, she was healed of her allergies. We were thrilled to watch her eat a birthday cake for the first time!

Now that she was fine, I focused on my other passion: education. Fast forward 15 years… I was starting to deal with an increasing number of allergies myself, finding my foods were becoming limited. After tracking down a local acupuncturist for the same allergy elimination treatments, I also left behind my allergies!

This made me want to understand how it worked. The more I learned about Eastern medicine and acupuncture, the more it made sense to my Western medical and chemistry background. My own allergy elimination reminded me of my original passion to help people get rid of their allergies!

So I  enrolled in acupuncture school… During my studies, I learned so much more than how to help people with allergies. I also love helping people get rid of their pain, regulate hormones and the immune system, and improve their stress and mental health. And all my years of working with young people as a teacher gave me a special skill-set and desire to do pediatrics.

I use many therapies in my practice: acupuncture and acupressure, electro-acupuncture, auricular (ear) therapy, laser therapy, herbs and supplements, allergy elimination, injection therapy, cupping, food therapy and lifestyle management. Check out my “Specialties”  and “Therapies” tabs for more info.

I’m happy to announce the publication of my book I co-authored with Dr. Li Zheng: Acupuncture & Infertility. It’s available for purchase on Amazon.

I look forward to helping you find your own Natural Wellness solutions to your health challenges.

Feel free to check out my credentials at  and  and ABORM.

I am also a member of FSOMA, the Florida State Oriental Medical Association.

Meet Li Zhang

Li Zhang, AP, Dipl. OM

My name is Li Zhang, I’m a NCCAOM National Board-Certified Acupuncturist and licensed in Florida. I graduated from University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine with Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine and a second Bachelor’s in Health Science.

I was born in China and immigrated to United States with my family. Growing up in China, I had struggled with upper respiratory problems as a kid, especially during winter time. For as long as I can remember, my grandmother will make me herbal teas at the first sign of cold or flu–and that has saved me over and over again.

I’m passionate in helping people improve their quality of life by managing stress and pain naturally, eliminating allergies and supporting their immune system to achieve a balanced life.

Meet Brooke Vacker

Brooke Vacker, AP, Dipl OM

I’m Brooke! I hold an undergraduate degree in Biological Science and Health Administration from the University of South Florida, where I graduated with honors as a scholarship recipient. I also earned a second Bachelor’s degree in Health Science and a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine. I am board-certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and licensed to practice in Florida.

With fifteen years of experience in the healthcare field, I have studied under several influential practitioners of both Eastern and Western medicine. My experience includes internships at multiple hospitals in South Florida, work in family medicine and plastic surgery, and apprenticeships with licensed acupuncturists and herbalists.

My interest in healthcare was sparked at a young age, as both my parents are healthcare professionals—a medical doctor and a registered nurse. Throughout my teenage years, I faced my own health challenges, including digestive issues, irregular periods, and symptoms of hormone imbalance. In my quest for solutions, I discovered herbalism and Chinese medicine. At the age of 20, I committed myself to a career in healthcare, driven by a passion for helping others and a calling to study the practices that had positively impacted my life.

My practice is informed by a diverse range of techniques, including Western medical training, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Extraordinary Vessel Acupuncture, Japanese-style acupuncture, and Tongue and Pulse Diagnosis.
